The Opel Maultier is a German half-track, developed from the famous Opel three ton truck. The advent of machines of this type was occasioned by the diffculties conventional wheeled vehicles had in overcoming the near-impossible conditions of the East Front. 4000 machines of Opel Maultier type were built between 1942 and 1944, which were employed by the German army until the final days of the Second World War.
